A radiopharmaceutical production site is composed of disparate elements that must be integrated physically and operationally—
- Cyclotron
- Site construction
- Synthesizer
- Hot cells/production lab
- Quality control laboratory
- Aseptic processing area (clean room)
- Packaging and distribution.
The cyclotron chosen dictates certain parameters of building construction and the synthesizer with its associated hot cells and production laboratory must also be provided for in the building design. The Quality Control laboratory design and instruments , its installation and staff training complete the readiness of the site for production of clinical doses.
A technical consultant with real experience in specifically PET site requirement coordination will make this complex process integrate smoothly.
